Detailed Info: Bloomberg R&D Feeds Infrastructure is looking for a C++ software developer with excellent computer science and programming fundamentals, strong problem-solving skills and the passion and drive to see new initiatives through to completion. Our work environment is open, creative, and friendly. We are seeking a technically capable, entrepreneurial, creative and motivated software developer to join us in continuing our success. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, testing and maintenance of these systems, which are high-throughput low-latency market-data feeds infrastructure. Our systems are up 24x7 and require resiliency and automatic fail-over, all wrapped up in an easy-to-use API, which is used by feeds developers and consumers of the data. The work will require working closely in a small team and collaboration with other developers groups within Bloomberg.

Development/Computing Environment: Qualifications:

A team player and excellent communicator

Understanding of the full software development life cycle

3+ years of solid C++ development experience with emphasis on performance and efficiency

Excellent problem-solving skills

Experience developing software in Linux/Unix environment

A passion for software development

Knowledge of at least one shell scripting language, such as Perl or Python

Understanding of STL, Design Patterns and Object-Oriented design

Familiarity with open-source frameworks for building distributed system is a plus

Familiarity with Scrum or similar agile methodology is a plus.

The position offers competitive rate for a contract and compensation package for F/T empoyee position.
