Detailed Info: to participate in all phases of testing including the development of the test strategy, plans, scripting/execution and QA sign off. This includes the ability to assist in design, creative, and technical code reviews. The individual will work closely with developers, project managers, network engineers and other stakeholders throughout the SDLC and support the project deliveries, as deemed appropriate. Adapt and evolve formal QA processes, ensuring that the team is using industry-accepted best practices. Oversee all aspects of quality assurance including establishing metrics, applying industry best practices, and developing new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met. Act as key point of contact for all QA aspects of releases, providing QA services and coordinating QA resources internally and externally. Lead and mentor QA team members, as well as manage outside contract testers. Interact with product management, project management and development teams to develop a strong understanding of the project and testing objectives. Design and create test conditions and scripts to address business and technical use cases. Perform functional, stress, load, performance, and other types of tests as determined in the test planning process. To ensure that tests are conducted as per BGC's SDLC. Develop the automation strategy/effort and generate scripts to perform automated testing cycles using (primarily) Mercury Interactive/HP products (ALM, QTP, etc)
Development/Computing Environment: Relevant Quality Assurance experience in financial industry. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Technical background and an understanding of the Financial products. Database skills, mainly in Oracle and SQL Server. Good experience with different Operating Systems, NT, Unix, Linux etc. Good understanding of object oriented programs, J2EE architecture, .NET, etc. Knowledge of automated testing tools, like QTP, Selenium, Verifix, etc. Understanding of network topology. Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple, diverse projects simultaneously. Must be flexible, independent, punctual and self-motivated..
